BACOLOD CITY – More than 5,000 job openings will be available to graduates of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) programs and other technical-vocational courses in Negros Occidental during the National Tech-Voc Day and TESDA 29th Anniversary event at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central here on August 25.

TESDA data on Tuesday showed at least 24 local and overseas employers will participate together with other national government agencies that will assist job applicants as part of the World Café of Opportunities (WCO).

Niña Connie Dodd, TESDA-Negros Occidental provincial director, enjoined job seekers, particularly the TESDA graduates, to take part in the WCO.

“It’s a convergence of everything. We’re putting it together in one place, everything that can help and what is needed by a skilled worker to get a job,” she added.

For the jobs fair, the TESDA has partnered with the provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Social Security System, Land Bank of the Philippines, and Department of Trade and Industry.

“We will also open our enrollment days. Those who want to have skills training can enroll,” she added.

Job applicants are requested to pre-register through http://bit.ly/45xiP2U or scan the QR (quick response) code found on the Facebook page of TESDA Region 6 (Western Visayas) or PESO Negros Occidental. (PNA)
