MANILA -- No offers have been made yet but Senator Panfilo Lacson said Monday that he will not decline if appointed as member of the Aquino Cabinet.

At a press forum on Monday, Lacson addressed reports that he was being considered as a replacement for Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.

He said Robredo has been "trying his best to perform his job to the best of his ability" and should stay as Department of Interior and Local Government chief.

Pressed on whether he will accept an offer when his third and final term ends in 2013, Lacson said he is "one person who will not shy away from responsibility." (Jonathan de Santos/Sunnex)
