Learning through travel

Carla N. Canet

PEOPLE travel for different reasons. But every chance we get at traveling presents opportunities for learning.

Most people travel locally and internationally to enjoy the beauty of the different places and experience first-hand the distinct culture of the place of destination.

We can learn greatly from travels as we expose ourselves to the nuances of people and their way of living.

One can travel either as a tourist whose direction is to go shopping or as a traveler who loves to experience people, places, and cultures. Both cases present opportunities to widen our outlook in life.

As of this writing, I am myself setting foot in the Land of the Rising Sun – Japan. It is one amazing experience.

It was a blend of work and play but the experience was incredible. In terms of apparel, we could not go on with using our plain shirts and blouses as we do back home. It is the winter season now in Japan so we have to wear winter jackets with inner thermals that way we can survive the freezing temperature.

It’s indeed chilling to the bones.

My trip here has given me opportunities to network, gotten me immersed in a new language, and has taught me to adopt to a different culture. Many thanks to our friends who live and work in Japan who made the extra mile to ensure that everyone of us here has enjoyed the trip.

Sayonara Japan.
