Lilia turns 100: Great family starts with great parents

Ethel Agsam-Ferrer

HOW often do you know a centenarian in your life? In the midst of the pandemic, our beloved mother, Lilia Tiberio Siason , widow of the late Orlando Gamboa Agsam and mother to 13 children, celebrated her 100 years birthday with her children, grandchildren and some of her closest relatives and friends.

Despite her small frame, she is made of steel and possesses the faith of the Everest. Her devotion to family is immeasurable, her life beyond a lifetime. She is our true inspiration for resilience and strength, a loving wife and mother PAR EXCELLENCE!

A devout Catholic, our parents are considered as spiritual leaders in our community. My dad used to be a lay minister in the church while my mom is a daily mass-goer.

For my mom, rain is never an excuse not to attend mass. She is also a catechist who extended her work to the public school children.

I write this with so much profound respect for my parents' commitment, selflessness and generosity to the community. There is so much to celebrate the life of this amazing woman we call Mom, Lola and Granny.

Finally, we pray that she stays healthy and happy and that she will continue singing which seems her happy place. Cheers to a happy life today and every day.

I am sharing her with you and now you can say you know a centenarian in your life.

Happy 100th birthday to the greatest mother and grandmother in the world!

Much love from the tribe.
