Some 1,322 employees of business process outsourcing (BPO) firm PanAsiatic Solutions in Bacolod City were inoculated against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Of that number, 922 employees already received their second doses of Covid-19 vaccines and more than 400 got their first jab.

On August 14, a simultaneous vaccination was held at the BPO firm’s two sites where 1,112 employees were inoculated, the Emergency Operations Center reported.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, chairman of Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) and the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC), oversaw the on-site vaccination drive at PanAsiatic along with City Administrator Em Ang, concurrent executive director of EOC and coordinator of CoVaC; and EOC deputy medical Dr. Anna Maria Laarni Pornan.

The activity was also supervised by Site Director Siony Hijara-Ferraris of PanAsiatic, the firm’s General Manager and Operations Director Rogie Arceñas, and Human Resource Manager Ma. Teresa Nolasco.

“You know how important vaccines are- most of those who are hospitalized are unvaccinated. Please help us educate and encourage others to get vaccinated, especially your family members,” Leonardia said.

“This is our way of trying to vaccinate everyone. Our target is to vaccinate everyone, particularly you in call centers,” he also said.

In a statement, PanAsiatic said that the incredible efforts have been made to get Covid-19 vaccines to their employees as they remain committed to keep the workplace safe for our people and help everyone get a better shot of ending the pandemic.

More vaccines arrived

More vaccines arrived in Negros Occidental on Saturday, September 11, the Civil Aviation Authority-Bacolod reported.

The vaccines included 50,000 doses of the China-made Sinovac and 1,170 vials of Pfizer. (MAP)
