A TOTAL of 98 persons in Bacolod City were arrested by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for violating curfew hours on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, spokesperson of BCPO, said Wednesday that the 98 persons were arrested by personnel of Police Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) for violating curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The violators were given warning and citation tickets. Bacolod residents were fined P500 while non-residents were fined P800.

Pico said those who failed to pay penalties were endorsed to the barangay for community service.

He said the curfew is part of the city’s campaign to curb the transmission of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and it will run until August 22.

The new curfew hours are provided in Executive Order No. 52, Series of 2020 to implement City Ordinance (CO) No. 934, which amended CO No. 927, the city’s original curfew ordinance, setting the curfew hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
