Alleged military informant shot dead

AN ALLEGED informant of the Philippine Army was gunned down by unidentified armed men at Barangay Laga-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental Saturday, April 13.

Killed was Crisanto Suelto Jr., 49, of the said village.

Police investigation showed that the victim was on his way home after attending a fiesta when four assailants blocked his way.

Two of the four assailants fired at him several times while two others served as lookout. The suspects then fled.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police recovered from the scene 10 fired bullets of .45 caliber pistol.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the motive.
