NEGROS Occidental Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa said Sunday, November 18, that the bidding for the P900 million new Provincial Administration Center (PAC) building could be held on December.

Mapa said the project will be a build and design contract to be entered by the Provincial Government with the winning bidder.

For now, his office is processing the purchase request of the project, he said.

Mapa said the new PAC structure will be a six-storey building with a basement.

He said the contractors will have to present and submit their designs and construction plans that will suit the requirements of the province, he said.

The bidding could be held the second week or third week of December, Mapa added.

Earlier, the Provincial Council approved the resolution authorizing Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. to enter into a loan agreement with the Land Bank of the Philippines in the amount of P1.2 billion to finance the various infrastructure projects of the province, including the P900 million for the construction of the new PAC building.

The cost of the building is P624 million and the remaining P276 million will go to the furniture and fixtures, generator, and four elevators.
