GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson designated the Yolanda housing project located in Barangay Sto. Nino, E.B. Magalona as the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) patients under investigation (PUI) center.

"We will group all recorded PUIs transfer in the Yolanda housing project in E.B. Magalona and we will monitor them. We hope to control the number of PUIs that are directly brought to the hospitals. There are cases considered as mild PUIs who are showing symptoms that cannot be considered moderate," Lacson said.

As Covid-19 PUIs area, the place will be provided with 200 testing kits, thermal gun scanner, personal protective equipment, emergency medicines, supplies and hygiene kits. There will be a staff quarter with water and electricity. Doctors and nurses will be assigned, as well as security guards and other pertinent health personnel and equipment.

The PUIs will be closely monitored, Lacson said.

The province has more than 200 PUIs as of March 29, while there is only one confirmed Covid-19 positive in the province.

He said that while testing kits will be done, it will still be submitted for confirmation at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo, which will be faster now.

Meanwhile, Lacson said that the doctor consultant at the Cadiz City District Hospital who was considered a PUI has not been reporting to the hospital since she did a self-quarantine.

The swab result taken from the said doctor who has travel history in Manila will be known on Thursday, April 2.

Provincial Health Office head Dr. Ernell Tumimbang also clarified that the certain areas where the doctor held clinic in Alfredo Maranon District Hospital and Cadiz City District Hospital have been under quarantine until April 5.

Contract tracing in other areas that were visited by the doctor has been conducted.

Tumimbang did not confirm reports that the said doctor who is an obstetrician-gynecologist has conducted caesarian operations in a private hospital.
