Carnap suspect arrested in Bacolod

THE Bacolod City Police Station 9 is now preparing carnapping and violation of illegal drugs complaints to be filed against the 35-year-old man who took the motorcycle of a policeman in Bacolod City on Friday, August 20, 2021.

Police Major Ritchie Gohee, chief of Police Station 9, said they will file charges for carnapping and violation of illegal drugs against Michael Franco of Purok San Roque, Barangay Handumanan.

He said Franco was arrested on Friday morning after he took the motorcycle of Police Staff Sergeant Antonietto Iwarata Jr., assigned in Police Station 9 in Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Cabug.

He was neutralized through the assistance of the village watchmen of Barangay Cabug.

Police recovered from Franco’s possession a motorcycle owned by Iwarata, three sachets of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and drug paraphernalia.

Gohee said the suspect was a former detainee and was released on parole for violation of illegal drugs.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 9.
