THE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) said they are strictly monitoring the entry of all locally stranded individuals (LSIs), and authorized persons outside of residence (APORs).

This comes after the botched attempt in Baguio City, wherein an individual claiming to be an official from the World Health Organization (WHO) was arrested after police found out he was a “fake.”

Police Major Norberto Barniso, chief of the NOCPPO's Police Community Relations office, said so far they have not encountered similar incidents that happened in Baguio City.

Barniso explained all LSIs and APORs entering the province are required to show a travel authority.

He said NOCPPO director Police Colonel Romy Palgue has also introduced a protocol, wherein the travel authority must have the name and contact number of the Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO), and the chief of police from the place where the LSI or APOR originated.

Barniso added Palgue's protocol has made it easier for health authorities to conduct their contact tracing, whenever an LSI or APOR tests positive for Covid-19.
