Father stabs 2 toddlers

TWO toddlers were injured after they were stabbed by their own father inside their house in Purok Paraiso, Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Wednesday morning, June 5, 2019.

Police identified the suspect as Elmer Laruan, 41.

The police said the two toddlers aged 2 and 3 years old sustained wounds in the neck after they were stabbed by their father using a scissor at 6:45 a.m.

Bacolod City Police Office Women and Children Protection Desk investigation showed that the mother of the victims was only awakened when she heard that her two children were crying.

When she checked, she saw the wounds and called assistance from their neighbors and brought them to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

The couple has 10 children.

The suspect was also arrested in a follow-up operation of Police Station 3.

The police said the suspect was not sleeping for almost five days and believed to be under the influence of illegal drugs.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and facing charges. (MAP)
