Gas station lose P1 million to robbers

Merlinda A. Pedrosa

FOUR robbers broke into a gasoline station at Barangay Alijis in Bacolod City and took about P1 million in cash past midnight Monday, March 28, 2022.

Police Station 7 commander Captain Elmer Bonilla said the robbery was captured by surveillance footage which also led to the identity of one of the suspects.

He said the suspect is an employee of the gasoline station from their other branch, but his identity is withheld pending investigation and file of appropriate charges.

Bonilla said the suspects destroyed the lock of the cabinet and the vault where the cash were kept inside the gasoline station’s admin office before fleeing on foot.

The police official noted that at that time, the two employees of the gas station were on break and only discovered the heist when they returned.
