Teresa D. Ellera

EXTRA bonus for Capitol employees was announced on Tuesday, December 17, by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said the Capitol has a total savings amounting to P323 million from Personnel Services (PS), which will be the source of funds for the extra bonus of the Provincial Government's 3,197 regular and contractual employees.

The governor's announcement was made on Tuesday during the Capitol employees' Christmas Party at the SMX Convention Center.

"We already have the maximum amount of computation of the extra bonus which will be announced today by the governor," Diaz said.

The Provincial Board is set to hold its regular session on Wednesday, December 18, per statement of Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer to approve the authority for the release of the extra bonus and take up other pending agenda, Diaz said.

He added that after the Board's approval, the payrolls will be prepared the next day and the release of extra bonus may start on Friday, December 20.

Diaz said it will be known on Tuesday if the P150 million allocation for the repair of the Panaad Stadium, which is set to start in 2020, will be sourced from the P323 million PS savings.

"That will all depend on the announcement of the governor," Diaz said, adding that the repair of the Panaad Stadium is in preparation for the hosting of the Province of the Palarong Pambansa in 2021.

Diaz said that Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival has already submitted and certified the availability of the PS savings.
