NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said given the special storage requirement of the Pfizer vaccine, the vaccination of such will be administered at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital (TLJPH) and the Negros Residences only.

In a statement, Lacson also said local government units will be given their allocations after the Sinovac vaccines are fully utilized based on the first-in, first-out protocol.

LGUs will submit the list of their vaccinees to the Provincial Health Office. Priority groups remain to be A1 to A3. On the scheduled date of vaccination, vaccinees will have their inoculation at the TLJPH or Negros Residences, Lacson said.

Last week, Negros Occidental received a shipment of 1,950 vials of Pfizer vaccines. The 1,950 vials is equivalent to 11,700 doses and can vaccinate 5,850 people.

The Pfizer vaccines are now stored at the ultra-low cold storage of the province and TLJPH.

Dr. Ernell Tumimban, provincial health officer, said the province has another ultra-low cold freezer in Valladolid.

He said the provincial government has been ready for any kind of Covid-19 vaccines that will arrive because of these available storage facilities.
