HIMAMAYLAN City Mayor Raymund Tongson said Thursday, November 4, 2021, that 14.9 percent or 11,642 of their targeted population has already been fully vaccinated against coronavirus (Covid-19) as of October 29, 2021.

Tongson said they are collating updated records with the Provincial Health Office on the city's vaccination program.

He said those who received the first dose are 15,478 or 19.81 of the population eligible for inoculation.

The vaccination for minors in the city will also start next week, the mayor added.

Meanwhile, Tongson presented 14 of the 19 punong barangays, who expressed their support to his re-election bid, to Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.

Tongson, who is seeking reelection, is being challenged by incumbent Fifth District Board Member Agustin Ernesto Bascon.

Tongson is under United Negros Alliance while Bascon is a member of Love-Negros.
