La Carlota City still tops Covid vax drive

La Carlota City is still the top performing local government unit (LGU) in Negros Occidental in terms of vaccination against coronavirus disease (Covid-19), data from the provincial government showed yesterday, November 8.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz II said that as of November 7, 50.34 percent or 23,721 individuals in La Carlota City had already received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

The city has already fully vaccinated at least 35.43 percent of the population which translates to 16,698 individuals.

While, some 7,023 residents in the city are currently awaiting their second dose, it added.

Silay City followed with 37,636 individuals or 40.57 percent of the target population receiving their first dose while 31,900 are now fully-vaccinated.

Pulupandan, in third place, recorded 7,997 individuals who received the jab once while 6,541 individuals are already fully-vaccinated.

Meanwhile, the lowest performing LGU in Covid-19 vaccination in the province is the Hinigaran with only 9,661 of the 89,387 target population already receiving at least one dose.

Around 5,678 individuals or 9.07 percent of its target population are already fully vaccinated.*
