GOVERNOR Eugenio Jose Lacson is satisfied with the performance of Police Colonel Romeo Baleros that's why he wants him to stay as the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Police Office (Noppo) director until his retirement.

"I don't intend to replace him. I am satisfied of his performance," Lacson said.

Lacson attended Monday, July 15, 2019 the Flag Ceremony at Noppo headquarters at the Camp Alfredo Montelibano in Camingawan.

He reminded the police in the province to strike a balance between law enforcement and the humanitarian side of the situation.

"They should always remember that although those suspects are criminals but they are also human that they should be given their day to defend themselves in court", Lacson said.

He also advised Baleros to closely work with the respective mayors on their respective concerns about peace and order but he should also defend his positions when necessary depending on the given situation.

Lacson said that the provincial government under his consultative type of leadership is willing to extend help to the police depending on their request.

Plaque of Recognition

During the program on Monday, Noppo gave plaques of recognition to the different police stations for having good performance in the different campaigns of the PNP.

Victoria City Police Station was cited for being the top performer in the campaign against illegal drugs for cities and E.B. Magalona Police Station for the municipal category; Bago City Police Station as top performer in the campaign against wanted persons for city category and Pontevedra Police Station for the municipal category; Escalante City Police Station for top performing police station in the campaign against loose firearms and Isabela Police Station for the municipal category; Silay City Police Station as top performing station in the campaign against illegal gambling in the city category and San Enrique Police Station for municipal category.
