A 28-YEAR-OLD man was injured after he was shot by his friend at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City Friday morning, July 5.

Police identified the victim as Radja Sapancha, of Barangay 2.

Police Captain Leo Estopa, chief of Police Station 2, said the victim sustained wound on his neck when his friend Brian Barredo, of Barangay 1, fired at him using a .45 caliber pistol.

He said before the incident, a heated argument ensued between Sapancha and Barredo around 6:50 a.m.

Police recovered from the scene of the crime an empty cartridge of .45 caliber.

The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, while the suspect fled.

Estopa said the victim was a former detainee at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology for violation of illegal drugs.

He said there’s a possibility that a misunderstanding ensued between Sapancha and his friend because of the illegal drugs transaction.

He added that they are still conducting a follow up operation to arrest the suspect. (MAP)
