Man shot dead in Toboso

A MAN was shot to death by an unidentified assailant in Barangay San Jose, Toboso, Negros Occidental Sunday evening, March 10.

Police identified the fatality as Eduardo Averina, of Barangay San Jose, Toboso.

The police said Averina was sitting near a store in Barangay San Juan at about 9:40 p.m. when the assailant, who was wearing towel mask, fired at him using an unidentified firearm and fled.

The victim sustained injuries on his back and face and was brought to a hospital in Escalante City, but did not survive.

Police recovered from the scene of crime four empty shells of a .45 caliber revolver.

Toboso Municipal Police Station is still investigating the incident to identify the suspect. (MAP)
