NegOcc guv joins regional PCL assembly, unity summit

“ENSURE health protocols against coronavirus disease (Covid-19) remain in place and focus on response and recovery efforts.”

This was the message of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson Friday, August 5, 2022, as he joins the opening of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Western Visayas Program for Newly Elected Officials and Regional Membership Assembly and Unity Summit held at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.

Lacson said he hopes that the activity will become an effective avenue and opportunity to learn, discuss, and develop the PCL's needed strategies and approach as local legislators as the government seeks better governance to reclaim what the pandemic took and to cushion the blow to the people, industries and economy.

"I have been in the government service for a long time, and I am keenly aware of the importance of partnership and cooperation between all governmental agencies and all sectors of society," he said.

The assembly is anchored on the theme: "One region, one goal for a united PCL.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Western Visayas Director Engineer Juan Jovian Ingeniero and the agency’s assistant regional director Maria Calpiza Sardua, Regional Director Nelson Sarmiento of Civil Service Commission and Negros Occidental PCL president Ryan Gamboa, among others, were also present at the activity.(PR)
