Negros Occidental-Cebu flights to resume in December

Teresa D. Ellera

THE resumption of flights between Negros Occidental and Cebu is set for December.

Lawyer Rayfrando Diaz, Negros Occidental provincial administrator, said the flights will be launched for humanitarian reasons.

Based on the initial scheduling of flights to the Bacolod-Silay Airport, airlines will operate one flight each. Cebu Pacific every Tuesday, Air Asia on Wednesdays and Philippine Airlines every Friday.

However, on December 24, 25, 31, 2020, and January 1, 2021, flights to the airport will be closed to give time for frontliners, especially those assigned to swab incoming passengers, to rest and celebrate the holidays.

All incoming passengers from Cebu will be subjected to swab testing upon arrival, as per the province's Covid-19 health protocols. (TDE)
