Nocppo gets modern firearms, ammos

THE Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) received several firearms, ammunition, and other equipment to be used for investigation from the Police Regional Office (PRO) Western Visayas.

Fifty units of Galil ACE 22N caliber .5.56 assault rifles and 18,000 rounds of ammunition of the said firearms were provided to the provincial police force as part of the modernization program of the Philippine National Police.

Also distributed were 32 investigator’s kits, 20 units of Global Positioning System, and three units of thermal imager.

An orientation on the usage of Basic Assault Rifle was conducted among the personnel of the Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company on April 2 to ensure the familiarity of the end users on the newly acquired rifles.

Colonel Romeo Baleros, acting provincial director of Nocppo, said that the newly acquired firearms and kits are big help in Nocppo’s anti-criminality campaign.

It will also improve the unit’s deliverance of public safety services to Negrosanons, he added. (GYM)
