OFW returning to Negros Occidental tests positive for coronavirus

NEGROS Occidental has a new positive case of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas reported that a 31-year-old female from Murcia town, Negros Occidental was tested positive for the new virus that causes Covid-19 as per result released Thursday, June 4.

She is a repatriated overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and is isolated at a quarantine facility in E.B. Magalona.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the patient has been tested negative in Manila but unfortunately, she became positive when she arrived in the province.

"I can't explain that she was negative during the first test and became positive on the second test. It could happen that she got it along the way. She is asymptomatic," Lacson said.
