Over P52,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Barangay Villamonte

AN ESTIMATED P52,500 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 4 at Mt. Carmel Street, Villa Angela Subdivision, Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City Thursday afternoon, December 19.

The operation also led to the arrest of Mark Josan, of Bacolod City.

Police Major Reynante Jomocan, chief of Police Station 4, said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover at about 4:10 p.m.

Police recovered from Josan’s possession two sachets of shabu, the P1,500 marked money, P500 cash, and one unit of TMX tricycle.

Jomocan said Josan was identified as street-level target and was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 4 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (MAP)
