P448K shabu seized in Bacolod City

AN ESTIMATED P448,800 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate drug bust operations in Barangays Singcang-Airport and 4 by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

The operations also led to the arrest of Eric Mugdan, 48, of Purok Lubi, Barangay 4; and Gina Padernal, 51, of Barangay Patag, Silay City.

BCPO records showed that Mugdan, a high value individual, was arrested by operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) after he sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer at Purok Gabi, Barangay 4 around 7 p.m.

Police recovered from Mugdan's possession 14 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 63 grams with estimated market value of P428, 400, the P1,000 marked money and P150 cash.

Earlier on Thursday, Padernal was also arrested by operatives of Police Station 4 at Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport at about 5 p.m.

Nine plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing three grams with estimated market value of P20, 4000, the P500 marked money and a pouch were reportedly recovered from the suspect.

Padernal and Mugad will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
