P50-M Candoni market breaks ground

NEGROS Occidental Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson and Mayor Cicero Borromeo led in the groundbreaking ceremony of the P50-million public market project in the Municipality of Candoni, Tuesday, November 12.

The new market will have areas for Wet Market Section with 64 stalls for selling of fish and other marine products; 100 stalls in the Dry Goods Section for fruits and vegetables, groceries and food stalls; and Commercial Stalls which will have 12 mixed-use rentable stalls.

Gov. Lacson said that a good and convenient public market is necessary in the town because it is the center of the economic activity that will lead to more improvements in various areas.

Mayor Borromeo thanked the provincial government for the realization of such project in their municipality.

Also present in the activity were Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II, Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, and Candoni Vice Mayor Loriemae Gargara and other local officials, among others. (PR)
