AN ESTIMATED P680,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a drug bust operation by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) at Purok San Roque 1, Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City at about 1:55 a.m. Thursday, June 8.

The operation also led to the arrest of Jomarie Tapalla, 55, a resident of the said village.

Captain Joven Mogato, head of CDEU, said Tapalla was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Police recovered from Tapalla’s possession 13 plastic sachets and one plastic bag containing suspected shabu weighing 100 grams, P1,000 marked money, a coin purse, and P200 cash.

Mogato said Tapalla, who was identified as high-value individual in Bacolod City, was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 10. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
