IN LINE with the initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd) to rehabilitate schools through the annual Brigada Eskwela program, the PrimeWater Bacolod with its partner Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) donated hand washing stations in two schools in the city.

The donation of handwashing stations in Sum-Ag Elementary School and Rizal Elementary school was held on October 4, 2021.

The management of the schools said they are thankful for PrimeWater Bacolod’s aid in their crusade to keep their respective schools safe.

“The handwashing station that you have shared with us will surely be a great help to our teachers, parents, and students,” Christina Gemora, who is the principal of Rizal Elementary School, said.

For her part, Sum-ag Elementary School principal Asther Jean Saril emphasized the need for frequent hand washing within the school grounds.

“Improving access to handwashing facilities through provision of handwashing units will reduce infection and spread of diseases,” Saril said.

This year’s theme of Brigada Eskwela is “Bayanihan para sa Paaralan.”

Baciwa’s General Manager Engineer Michael Soliva said that in the past two years, the school operations were hit by the pandemic.

Soliva said they would like to help by responding to the school needs in cooperation with PrimeWater.

He said that aside from sufficient water supply, they also assured the schools of the materials which can assist the teachers and the schools in carrying out their mission to provide quality education.

Meanwhile, Lily Donasco, PrimeWater Bacolod’s branch manager said the pandemic caused a lot, and proper handwashing is just one of many ways to stop the spread of the virus. (PR with reports from TDE)
