Raps filed vs 3 suspects for making fake driver’s licenses

A COMPLAINT for violations of the Anti-Red Tape Act and falsification of public documents were filed Friday, August 27, before the City Prosecutor's Office against the three suspects who were arrested in separate entrapment operations in Bacolod and Bago cities on August 26.

Charged were Lorebelle Umbao, 43, of Purok Paghida-et, Barangay Mansilingan; Jefferson Panisa, 33, of Prok Kahirup-A, Barangay Mansilingan; and Marlon Pandongan, 48, of Purok Paho South, Barangay Taloc, Bago City.

Police records showed the suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9485 Section 11 (b) for fixing activities, and violation of Article 172 or falsification by private individuals or public documents.

Umbao and Panisa were nabbed by operatives of Bacolod City Mobile Force Company and Land Transportation Office-Western Visayas for falsification of driver's licenses on Bonifacio Street, Central Public Market, Bacolod City around 12:10 p.m.

Pandongan was arrested at his house in Bago City.

Police recovered from the suspects' possession several fake drivers' licenses, the marked money, and the machines and supplies they used to manufacture fake documents.

The suspects are detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1.
