Manila bomb squad deployed in churches

Sunnexdesk

THE Manila Police District (MPD) on Wednesday started to deploy its bomb squad to man the Holy Week commemoration.

A radio report said the bomb squad will be deployed especially in churches where people are starting to flock for the Holy Week.

However, the report said the MPD personnel are under-armed as their firearms are still in the police crime laboratory.

They were earlier ordered to submit their firearms for the investigation on the Manila hostage crisis on August 23 last year.

Until now, their high-powered firearms were not yet returned, the report added. (Sunnex)
