Since he joined the broadcast media in 1998, lawyer Ruphil F. Bañoc has built a name associated with unrelenting crusades against the excesses of the mighty and the influential.

Aside from being the station manager of dyHP-RMN Cebu, he is affiliated with Sun.Star Superbalita [Cebu] (his column, “Birada,” appears on Mondays and Wednesdays) and CCTN Channel 4.

Ruphil believes media should help educate and advocate. He studies his issues before going on air, fully aware that commentary shouldn’t be all bark.

Long before he became a lawyer, Ruphil always wanted to make radio a big classroom. It shouldn’t be an avenue where anyone utters just anything that comes to mind.
