Gomez stops Stella in Round 3 of Clash before Christmas

EB MAGALONA-PRIDE Herlan Gomez might be young but, has lots of potential after a solid performance in the first two rounds in the main event of the “Clash before Christmas” forcing his Cebuano veteran counterpart Jeffrey Stella to give up at the start of the 3rd round.

The undefeated Gomez displayed great command inside the ring - launching various combinations that eventually sent Stella twice on canvas in round 2.

The win gave Gomez a clean three wins with pair of technical knockouts.

In the supporting bout, Rodel Sioco survived the last round knockdown against Anthony Tuñacao with a majority decision. Judge Frank Alojado scored the fight on a 38-even as Gedione Nietes and Henceboy Cestina had it 40-36 for Sioco.

Meanwhile, in the other pro-fight, June Casugay ruled over Jim Paul Dignos in another 4-rounder at 105 lbs. Category via split decision. Alojado and Cestina scored 39-37 for Casugay while Romeo Sumalapao had it 39-37 for Dignos.

Also featured during this boxing presentation are 15 amateur bouts.

The “Clash before Christmas” was presented by the Juan Ramon Guanzon Boxing Promotions in partnership with Mayor Bing Leonardia Boxing Development Program, and sanctioned by the Games and Amusement Board.
