BEING in sports is one way to get rid of dangerous drugs.

This is one of the reasons why Milo Summer Sports Clinics are initiated, according to Police Chief Inspector Paul Jerome Puentespina, who is also a national organizer for the table tennis summer clinic.

Puentespina, who is likewise with the PNP Negros Occidental Crime Lab, added that this activity is among their anti-drugs advocacy. "I organize the summer sports clinic which is at the same time part of our Police Community Relations activities under the Anti-Drug Campaign in support of President Rodrigo Duterte's program."

"We started the program in 2014. But, because of the pandemic, we do stay at home activities -- only for those interested Milo participants. For my former students, we do Zoom," he said. "But, next month, there will be a Milo free online clinic to be organized by UP," he added.

Puentespina also stressed that aside from the clinic, they also give talks about the Anti-Drug Campaign, and table tennis serves as one of the platforms for this campaign. (JSG)
