Silver Dragon upsets YBAC in overtime

COLEGIO de Sta. Ana de Victorias (Silver Dragon) relied on Jeff Manday's 36 points and Toto Adorio's 29 markers to upset YBAC/ESJ/Fyr Fyter, 99-95, in overtime on Sunday's main game of the tripleheader in Negros Basketball Association President's Cup at Po Hang gym of the Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

YBAC was ahead 40-39 at the half but CSAV made it 60-all at the end of third quarter.

It was a seesaw battle in the fourth until Adorio missed a side jumper with 3.8 seconds and the game stood at 83-all.

At the five-minute extension, Manday hit two triples, two free throws, and a jumper while import JR Essakadualla and Adorio added three points each to survive the Fyr Fyters which missed the services of Coach Dennis Tumayan and several STI-WNU standouts who were out of town.

John Nermal was unstoppable with 34 points, import Sackor added 20 and the trio of Montalbo-Jaca-Testa combined for 33 points for YBAC's first loss in two outings.

In other Sunday's games, Tommy Andren set a record of 46 points in Melfern's 140-94 triumph over Dawn Rent A Car. Duke Jay Game Farm likewise improved to 2-2 record with an 80-66 win over USLS Freeze Sportswear.

Saturday’s results saw Duke Jay GF beating Dawn R-A-C, 128-112 and UNO-R Shabu Shabu stopping Supreme ABF Silvergraces Construction, 82-76.

The Rams in Red House Taiwan Shabu Shabu uniform led the standings at 4-0, CSAV at 4-1, Supreme ABF 3-1, YBAC 1-1, Duke Jay 2-2, Melfern 1-2, LCC/Davies Paint/J Squared Construction, 0-1, USLS 0-3, and Dawn Rent a Car 0-4.
