Trillanes seeks GSIS performance review

Sunnexdesk

MANILA -- Senator Antonio Trillanes IV this week called for an investigation into "numerous" complaints against the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) including a decision to stop pension payments to widows and widowers who have found jobs.

In Senate Resolution 299, Trillanes cited a GSIS decision to stop paying “spouses of deceased pensioners who are found to be gainfully employed or have other sources of income” as one of many issues that has to be explained.

Trillanes also wants the GSIS to undergo a performance review over complaints from public school teachers who say they have been classified as delinquent members despite having their GSIS contributions deducted from their monthly salaries. (Jonathan de Santos/Sunnex)
