2 nabbed in buy-bust

TWO suspected illegal drug pushers were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) and Kalinga Police Provincial Office (KPPO).

Langngag Yagao Gayyad, 43, of Tabuk City, Kalinga was apprehended by joint personnel of Kalinga Drug Enforcement Unit(DEU), Tabuk City Police Station (TCPS) and members of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB)-15.

Gayyad was arrested in his residence Thursday afternoon, March 28 while his two companions escaped which yielded one small sachet containing suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia in his possession.

Meanwhile, a female drug pusher identified as “Cherrylyn” of East Bayan Park was arrested Wednesday night, March 27.

During the joint buy-bust operation of the Baguio City DEU, Station 7, Station 6, and members of the Criminal Intelligence Unit in coordination with the Pdea-Cordillera Administrative Region, Cherrylyn was held after vending a sachet of suspected shabu to one of the operatives who acted as a poseur buyer. Her male companion escaped.

Evidence confiscated from the suspect’s possession were two sachets of shabu, one mobile phone and P3, 000 buy-bust money.

Gayyad and Cherrylyn are now facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 filed by the police in court.

The companions of the arrested suspects who eluded arrest are now subjects for surveillance and manhunt operation.
