Establishments asked to consider customer welfare

Lauren Alimondo

THE Municipal Council of La Trinidad, Benguet called on all commercial establishments to provide chairs and temporary shade on designated customer queue areas.

Councilor Jim Botiwey, in his proposed measure backed by the entire council, disclosed that in the time of the pandemic, social distancing is accepted as a method to contain the transmission of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) from person to person.

Councilors added banking institutions and other business establishments like groceries and restaurants have implemented social or physical distancing rule. However, this resulted in long lines outside establishments, causing undue stress from standing and being exposed during sunny and rainy days.

"It is inherent for all commercial establishments to provide for ways and means to give comfort to their customers or clients," the resolution added.
