Gamboa hails PRO-Cordillera as most disciplined

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) praised Cordillera cops for maintaining its status as the most disciplined regional force in the country.

PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa said Police Regional Office-Cordillera’s (PRO-COR) discipline can be attributed to the culture.

“Honestly, when you visit the different regional offices, the Police Regional Office Cordillera would always stand out based on their formation and marching alone. The advantage PRO-COR is a standout, because of the cold weather, and you can see this in PRO-COR’s crime statistics, aside from the very strong culture here in the Cordillera which why we have very disciplined people in our organization,” said Gamboa.

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) listed cops from the Cordillera Administrative Region to be among the country’s most disciplined law enforcers.

The assessment report by Napolcom released in 2019 by the Regional Internal Affairs Service (RIAS) of PRO-COR said Cordillera policemen were included in the country’s top three most discipline cops.

Gamboa also recognized the big number of police personnel being assigned to the Special Action Force (SAF) from PRO–COR.

“As a matter of fact, a lot of members of the Special Action Force who is the main force of the PNP against insurgency are coming from the Cordillera, so they are already disciplined aside from being fighters,” Gamboa added.

The chief PNP made the recognition in lite of the police organization’s goal of strengthening its internal cleansing campaign of the country’s police force.
