MEMBERS of the La Trinidad Municipal Council have filed a resolution commending a mother of two who returned P2.7 million.

Alice Baguitan, accompanied by her husband John, received a certificate of recognition from La Trinidad Mayor Romeo Salda on Thursday, August 15, 2019.

"For her most admirable deed of honesty and moral uprightness... and giving pride to the Municipality of La Trinidad," stated the certificate of recognition awarded to Baguitan on August 15.

Baguitan, a resident of Barangay Pico, returned P2.7 million to the owner in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. This was not the first time that she had returned a money. Last year, she also returned P750,000.

According to reports, Baguitan took time to find the owners of the money and was able to return the cash at Laoag bus station after recalling that the two was headed toward the area.

She also declined any reward, saying blessings come to those who are honest.
