Looter nabbed at ‘Market Encounter’ during Panagbenga

DESPITE the presence of personnel from the Baguio City Police Office manning the area of the Market Encounter of the recently concluded Panagbenga, looters still tried to conduct their criminal activities.

Sherlyn Nicolas Quizana, 30, of Cabanatuan City was arrested for intentionally taking five jogging pants worth P750 after a complaint was made by Suzane Pascua Lagadan, 22, a sales lady from Loakan, Itogon, Benguet.

Based onñ the report of the Tourist Police Unit, the incident happened at around 3:00 p.m. of March 1 at the rose garden in Burnham Park.

Investigation disclosed Lagadan was tending to her merchandize when she saw two female customers who aided one another in taking the said items and put it inside a yellow eco bag.

When the complainant confronted them, they hurriedly left the stall. Lagadan ran after them and sought the assistance of a security guard together with two UB Criminology Interns.

Quizana was cornered together with the looted items and is now detained at the Baguio City Jail-female dorm. (Jonathan Llanes)
