DESPITE being busy with their work, Cordillerans in Dubai still found time to be at Gate 1 Zabeel Park Dubai for a series of Boxing Boot Camp.

This is to support a mission which aims to help the victims of Typhoon Ompong in the region particularly the civilian rescuers in Itogon, Benguet.

A project initiated by Fitness and MMA coaches Erwin Tagure and Alfred Luciap Jr. the event also made the participants realized the importance of healthy lifestyle and the essence of unity and sharing.

“We extend our help to fellow Cordillerans in our home country. But aside from that, this event also serves as an eye opener for us working abroad on the importance of healthy lifestyle,” Tagure said.

Also, included as beneficiaries for the Boxing Boot Camp for a cause are the orphaned children who lost their parents in the calamity.

Former Cordillerans UAE president Gregory Miguel said the activity is also very beneficial to the OFW’s in Dubai as it also promotes good health.

OWF Dr. Ednalyn Dakiwas from Abra Chapter hopes for the continuous unity and love among Cordillerans in UAE in pursuing such undertaking that will benefit the kailyans who are in need of help back home.

Other fitness and MMA coaches like Crisaldo Gullod and Lester Canisi also supported the fund drive where exercises such as the mixed martial arts conditioning, body weights training combination, core work out, and high intense boxing conditioning were taught.

Also included in the activities are varied and effective workout, boxing, circuits, bodyweight, battle ropes, core work, cardio, and team activities.

Cordillerans UAE Treasurer Mary Jane Epi said the event is a project of their group in partnership with Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, and Abra Chapters.

As we observe the Month of Overseas Filipinos, let us thank all the OFWS like the members of Cordillerans UAE for all the efforts they are doing for their family, country, and for the communities that needed help in the country.
