IN TIMES of need, the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Singapore have proven their strong unity in helping the needy community back home.

Lately, members from the different organizations proceeded to Lucky Plaza to give clothes and other in kind donations for the Taal Volcano eruption victims in Batangas.

At least 37 boxes were collected in the project spearheaded by Engr. Arnel Repeso of Singphil Events and Services, Shoot For A Cause (SFAC) team headed by MJ Javier, Arlene Alvarado, Riza Claveron, and Julie Balaoin Damong of MontanyosaBIBAK Singapore.

Baloin said SFAC team also conducted a fund raising drive and raised a total of 1,140 Singapore Dollars through the help of OFWs who have their photos taken in exchange for donation.

The cash and in kind donations were sent to the different evacuations centers in Batangas recently.

Other groups who supported the cause include the Luzviminda Charity Group, Enchantress Queen, Montanyosa BIBAK, Asosasyon ng mga Makabayang Mamayang Pilipino Overseas (AMMPO), Maharlika Group, Singphil Events and Services, Zumba dancers Queen of Sunday, and others.

The Filipino Community in Singapore is set to send more donations to the victims in Batangas these coming days.
