THOMAS Dean Baday took his home court advantage to the hilt, as he breezed the 700-meter course with ease to lead the winners of the downhill category of the 111th Baguio Charter Day MTB Fun Events recently at the Virago Sports and Recreational Camp in Loakan Proper, Baguio City.

Baday complete the course with a time of two minutes and 26.27 seconds to rule the youth boys (17 to 21 years old) category, besting Lourenz Abanze, who settled for second place after clocking 2.38.29 with Rhon Gamay Orpilla placing third with a time of 2.49.65.

Darwin Abenoja, meanwhile, clocked two minutes and 23.26 as he topped the men's elite division while Schuyler Gil Ambaked had a time of 3.32.61, winning the title in the men's beginner (open) contest with Joshua Beray, placing second after clocking 4.00.81 as Arjay Viscaya finished third with a time of 4.17.21.

In the junior boys (13 to 16 years old) category, Jude Nadera crossed the finish line with a time of 3.20.48 to win the championship, while Aron Reign Ambaked came in second after completing the course in 3.24.07 with Jumson Baucan coming in third at 3.40.42.

Alieson Ken Omengan, meanwhile, registered a time of 2.53.02 in topping the senior men's (22-29) category while Shatner Arinos Epler' 3.00.47 was good for second place as Ryan Wayas salvaged third with his 3.13.41.

In masters men A (30-39), Joe Kenneth Beray clocked 3.44.01 to top the division, while Jommel Dogulero had a time of 3.47.19 to finish second.

Gary Vincent Padsing had a time of 4.26.27 to rule masters B men (40-49), while Lawrence Martin Pila came in second with a time of 5.08.76.

Race organizer Marites Bitbit said some 48 riders from Baguio and Benguet joined the two-day fun ride backed by Engineer Rowald Julian of RAJ, Hector Yuzon of RD Cycles, Genesis Soriano of Booster C, Baguio Fire Department - Medical Team, Loakan Proper Barangay Tanod for the security under the supervision of Barangay Chairman Edouard Cayetano, University of Cordillera's Education Department headed my Dean Ramir Austria, Chief Inspector Jessie Annasiw of the Baguio City Fire Department and Petra Dzurova.
