22 Kagay-anons contract coronavirus

THE Cagayan de Oro City Health Office on Saturday, January 23, 2021, reported 22 city residents, one of whom is a returning overseas Filipino worker (ROF) and 21 are local transmissions, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases in the city to 3,222.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said 14 of the 21 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, three are authorized persons outside residence (Apors), three are local index cases and one death.

Of the 3,222 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 418 are under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 2,804 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 2,804 local cases consist of 185 persons deprived of liberty, 1,418 local index cases and 1,201 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 369 active cases, 109 of whom are admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, 256 outpatients, and four are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 10 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 2,690.

Of the figure, 298 are LSIs, 115 are ROFs, and 2,277 are local cases (community: 1,919; Apors: 358).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 163.
