Active Covid-19 cases in Cagayan de Oro rise to 1,823

THE City Health Office of Cagayan de Oro has noted an increase in the number of coronavirus disease cases and active infections.

The number of active Covid-19 cases in the city increased to 1,823.

As of 10 p.m. Monday, August 2, the City Health Office recorded 108 new cases, 70 of which are local index cases, 23 are local cases with link, eight are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), six are Apors with link, and one mortality.

This brought the cumulative Covid-19 case count to 12,990.

The city's active cases, on the other hand, were composed of 579 who were admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 1,244 were outpatients.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 159 Covid-19 patients who have recovered from the disease, bringing the total recoveries to 10,607.

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 560.

Meanwhile, the total number of vaccinated confirmed coronavirus-positive individuals in Cagayan de Oro has reached 1,708, according to the report of city epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya.

Retuya said of the 1,708 vaccinees, 1,126 were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccine, 357 were vaccinated with AstraZeneca, 123 with Pfizer, 87 with Sputnik V, 12 with Janssen and three with Sinopharm.

Of the 1,126 coronavirus-positive Sinovac vaccinees, 849 individuals are experiencing mild symptoms, 196 are asymptomatic, 76 have moderate symptoms, and five are severe cases.

Among the 357 AstraZeneca vaccinees, 246 individuals have mild symptoms, 81 are asymptomatic, 28 have moderate symptoms, and two severe cases.
