EVACUEES encamped at the capitol grounds are likely to spend their Christmas at their makeshift shelters unless government soldiers pull out their detachment in their community in Banglay, Lagongong, Misamis Oriental.

The displaced families are urging Governor Yevgeny Emano to help them convinced the military to leave their community so they can spend the yuletide season in their homes.

"Mas malipay mi nga sa amo mi makapasko kay sa diri,"Nenita Hilogon, one of the residents said.

The lumad bakwits are already staying at the capitol grounds for almost six months.

Hilogon said some of them are still experiencing minor illnesses.

She also received reports that some of the evacuees' houses were partially destroyed.

"Posible mga sundalo ra nagguba gikuha daw ang mga dingding kay gisungnod," she said.

"Busa panawagan namo ni Gov.Bambi nga matabangan mi nga mapapahawa na ang mga sundalo sa amo aron didto rami makapasko," she added.

Meanwhile, the provincial government is set to give a Christmas blow-out for bawkit children.

Provincial information officer Nicole Managbanag said the provincial library will lead the activity as instructed by the governor.

"Para ma feel sa mga bata ang pasko bisan naa sila nagbakwit,"Managbanag said.
