Cagayan de Oro logs 143 new Covid-19 cases over the weekend

THE Cagayan de Oro Health Office logged 143 new coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases over the weekend, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the city to 5,913.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said of the 143 new local cases, 56 are close contacts of previously confirmed cases, 49 are local index cases, 32 are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors), four are Apors with link, and two deaths.

Of the 5,913 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 438 were under the returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) category and 5,475 cases were local transmissions.

Cagayan de Oro recorded 893 active cases, 223 of whom are currently admitted to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and other hospitals in the city, and 670 are outpatients.

Cagayan de Oro also registered 121 new coronavirus-positive persons who were tagged as "recovered," bringing the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 4,771, with an 80.68-percent recovery rate.

Of the figure, 313 are LSIs, 124 are ROFs, and 4,334 are local cases (community: 3,681; Apors: 653).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is at 249.
