Oro price council: Stores compliant with SRP of Noche Buena items

MOST of the establishments in Cagayan de Oro City which were inspected on Wednesday, December 4, are compliant with the suggested retail price (SRP) of Noche Buena products, the City Price Coordinating Council (CPCC) said.

CPCC chairman lawyer Edgardo Uy said all of the 11 grocery stores they visited are following the standard prices of the Noche Buena items.

Uy reminded consumers to be smart buyers by canvassing and comparing the prices.

He said some grocery stores have products with prices lower than the SRP. The list of SRP can be downloaded at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) website.

Also, the monitoring team reminds consumers not to be hesitant if they need to complain a product.

“It is the consumers right to ask kay paliton gud nato. Parehas sa atong visit sa usa ka grocery store, taas kaysa SRP ang product nga naka-indicate sa shelf pero reduced na diay sa cashier’s cash register. Wala lang ma-update ang price tag,” he said.

Uy said if this happens, the consumer has the right to call the attention of the store owner to correct the price.

Last month, the DTI reported that a total of 134 Noche Buena products have maintained its prices while six products have lower prices this year compared to last year’s SRP list.
