Cagayan de Oro records 2,316 Covid-19 cases

EIGHTEEN residents, one of whom is a locally stranded individual (LSI), tested positive for Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Cagayan de Oro to 2,316.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Lorraine Nery said seven of the 17 new local cases are close contacts of previously confirmed cases and two are local authorized persons outside residence (Apors).

Of the 2,316 total Covid-19 cases in the city, 388 are returning overseas Filipino workers/locally stranded individuals (ROFs/LSIs) and 1,928 cases are local transmissions.

According to Nery, the 1,928 local cases consist of 155 inmates 984 local index cases, and 789 local cases with link.

Cagayan de Oro has recorded 508 active cases, 55 of whom are admitted at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), 429 outpatients, and 24 are ROFs/LSIs.

The city also registered 19 new coronavirus-positive persons who are now tagged as "recovered" after their repeat swab test results came out negative over the weekend. This brought the total number of recoveries in Cagayan de Oro to 1,707.

Of the figure, 263 are LSIs, 100 are ROFs, and 1,344 are local cases (community: 1,093; Apors: 251).

The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city is now at 101.
